Wildlife Habitat Improvement
As part of a comprehensive management plan, Bay State Forestry Service will help
landowners identify specific wildlife goals. We incorporate advice of wildlife
management professionals to help attain habitat goals for your property while
complying with applicable wildlife regulations.
The following are examples from some of our current and past projects:
- Encouraging early successional forest & shrub-land to improve
wildlife habitat
- Converting woods or wood edge for the reestablishment of native
grass species to encourage songbirds in migration, whose natural habitats are in
decline
- Control of invasive plant species to encourage the establishment
of native woody & herbaceous plants, in turn supporting native reptiles,
insects, birds & mammals
If applicable, Bay State Forestry Service can also help you, to enroll in
cost sharing programs.
