Boundary Maintenance

Bay State Forestry Service will identify and re-establish property boundary lines. This service includes identifying the lines between property corners, removal of brush and small trees from the line and blazing and/or painting of the boundary. This service helps in conducting other management activities and can protect your property from trespass issues.

Blazing: indicating forest boundaries by physically making a notch into the bark of the boundary trees. This is not a process that will harm the overall health of the tree. Bark scribe, an industry tool, is sometimes used in this process. State Current Land Use Programs require that boundaries be blazed & painted.

Note: for forest management practices only, no survey plans produced.
